So, if you type in "dirty sex addict", do you go to Clinton's Bio?

it's cause of this:
"This president is a miserable failure on foreign policy
and on the economy and he's got to be replaced."
- Dick Gephardt at the DNC presidential debate in New Mexico, 9/4/03
to paraphrase what one of my professors said though, he may wat to change that postition now that the economy has grown 8.2%

But it doesn't say that anywhere on his bio. Also it's not hard to improve something if you first run it into the ground. =) Especailly when it's due to people having the extra money from tax refunds after spending billions on the war, but I guess in either case you don't have to make money to spend it.

I understand that someone did it intentionally, I was just telling you why it was the term "miserable failure" that was used.
Also, you should check the economic data...the recession began the last year of Clinton's term. Regardless, the point wasn't that Bush necessarily did or didn't do anything for the economy. I doubt my professor is even a fan of the President. The point was that it doesn't seem like a good strategy to say that he's been an economic failure when everyone is hearing about how the economy is experiencing huge growth.

Is it any coincidence that the 2 biggest deficits in this country's history came under 2 different guys named Bush?
(or maybe Reagan had the biggeset, I don't know, but all three are republicans)

Actually I will ammend my comment. The US did not "officially" enter a recession until the beginning of 2001 (March is officially the date most use) However the economy had been showing signs of slowing down prior to that. So, many predicted that the recession would occur. If I'm not mistaken, it was actually a topic of discussion at the Presidential debates. Also, the NBER, which more or less officially denoted the recession as such, notes that without the September 11th attacks, the contraction that began in March may have remained mild and not worsened to the point of a recession.
The point? I can't remember. Just kidding, the point is that the claim that Bush caused the recession is highly suspect. Recessions happen, so do expansions. We have some control over them but there's also a lot of stuff that is much less controllable.
Of course you did put a smilie after your comment. I could take that as meaning you were joking about that comment. But I suspect that you at least partly meant it either way.
It's taken me a while to write this and I see that Scott has also posted a comment...I think I'll get back to that one.

I only notced it because someone actually found his article by searching for that particular phrase so I wanted to see where it came up on google if you do the search. It came up first, obviously since that's what the I'm Feeling Lucky button does.

The fact that people received $300 checks in the mail is a big reason for the recent expansion. I am sure when people receive their property tax bills in the future and find they are higher by much more than $300, we'll see what the true effects of tax cuts for the rich are.

That is actually a good point, I would dig for my own posts regarding that a couple years ago, but five legs for pointing out the obvious.
