2007 All Star Game

Basically, I'm just going to list who I think should represent the Brewers this year. For the first time in a long time, the Crew is full of players that deserve to be all-stars. Whether or not all deserving players will make the squad is doubtful, but here is my analysis.
Prince Fielder: A no-brainer. Fielder is having an MVP caliber season. He leads the NL in homeruns (27), RBI (62), slugging % (.629), is second in total bases and OPS, and is batting .283. This guy is getting it done. He is currently on pace to be the first Brewer voted into the starting lineup since Paul Molitor was elected in 1988.
JJ Hardy: Hardy leads all NL shortstops in homeruns (18), RBI (50), slugging (.521), and is near the top in OPS, total bases, and OBP. He is playing stellar defense as well. He is about as solid a shortstop as there is. He isn't necessarily the flashiest player, but he makes every out an out. Hardy is second among NL shortstops in all star voting.
Francisco Cordero: Leads the entire league with 27 saves, has a blinding 12.75 k/9 innings,
Ben Sheets: 9 game winner (tied for 2nd in the NL), 3.06 ERA (6th), 3rd most quality starts (12), 2 complete games (2nd most).
In my opinion, these 4 players will find their names on the 2007 All-Star roster.

The day of the All-Star Game will be the day Ben Sheets is due to pitch. Maybe he'll be named starter. That'd be sweet.

Money on Morneau for the HR Derby
NM I lose... 4 ain't bad, eh?
I guess a couple of years ago Meagen was at Harvey's Bar here in MPLS- walked right up next to Morneau at the bar, got her drink before he did, and walked away clueless... She knows better now.

That's all right. The MVP can hit only 3 homers in the derby. Besides, I think the Prince will be in a few more derbies in our life time. I mean come on, I'm even older than him.

No, as soon as she went back to where her friends were, they said "don't you know who that is?"

I fantasy drafted the field with my roommate and Vlad was my 1st pick. The derby takes way too long though. I need to dvr or tivo next year and then watch the whole thing in 10x and maybe pause rewind for the 500 shots.

Morneau embarrassed us. Here we thought he was going to take it all because it just usually looks so effortless, and then he doesn't even make it to the 2nd round. Oh well. It probably wasn't necessary to watch people attempt to hit homeruns for over 2.5 hours. Wii time!

What was with all the unenthusiastic arm raising during the introductions? It looked more like roll call in some boring general studies college class than the All-Star game. Take-off your caps and give a wave like you're happy to be there!

D. Ortz is my new favorite non-Twin/former Twin (say what?!?!) (Sorry Dougie, but u play for the Yanks) player. I wonder why he likes the Packers, although it's not hard to guess why. They're awesome-o.

I still can't figure out how Ortiz was able to be in the all-star game at an NL park. When was the last time he's actually played first base?

What are you talking about? He played at 1st for 7 games this year. That would wear anyone out. Plus they were quality starts at 1st, so that should get anyone into the All - Star game.

I like Ortiz too, but Scott's point stands. What is 7 games when you're halfway point is like 88?

I think she was being sarcastic.
