NutCan's New Addition: Uecker the Dog
10/07/2008 4:22 pm
Scott and Melissa got a dog! His name? Why it's Uecker! Look for some witty blog comments from this little guy in the near future, as well as a legendary home run call.
He is a cockapoo, which is a cocker spaniel mixed with a poodle.
Sarah - How do you use these things?

Cute.... Jon said your dog was going to be a big dog. Somehow I don't think this dog will. Congrats!

I think I might have mentioned early in the past few years that I wanted a big dog, but really, our apartment is too small for a big dog.

I said I didn't know, but it looked like it might get bigger.
And thanks for blowing it by telling him that I told you before he announced it. Now Scott will never tell me anything important. I'll have to read about it on here like the rest of you.

This little guy refuses to let me sleep past 6:00am. Even though he's in his little cage, he'll just start crying for someone to either play with him or let him out to do his business.

"now, Timmy, this dog comes with responsibilities."
Our cat wakes us up at 6 am on the weekends for her spoonfull of wet (canned) food. Afterwards she lets us sleep in, but man that sucks sometimes.

Scott - If you aren't enough without it, you'll never be enough with it.

His whining really would not bother me that much, I can sleep through it and he can sit in the kitchen (or his cage) and like it. But my wife on the other hand likes to sleep in, and she knows it and I know it, if she ain't happy, I ain't happy. Plus, we both view it is "my dog" so to speak, so I gladly take the responsibility.
On Saturday, he started whining at 4:00am, so I got up and took him for a little walk. It worked until he started whining again at 7:00am. Whatever, I've wanted a dog since I was like 10, so it'll take a lot more than a little lack of sleep for me to have anything close to a regret.

That's one of the best posts in a long time.

Except for the fact that it's the exact opposite of what you're "supposed" to do. ie Teaching it that whining will set it free. But, it's natural to want to spoil them a bit right off the bat.

Yeah, except scott has one of those marriages where his wife actually likes him, so it works.

I think Monica liked Chandler very much.
