A couple of games here don't mean squat to me- but perhaps they do in the grand scheme of last-minute playoff contention:
Vikes-Broncs- If I were at home, I'd take a nap instead- or perhaps watch the California Classic, aka the Chargers-Raiders game. Instead, I will be enjoying a Floridian beach.
Chiefs-Jets- chat people will understand this- wtfc? Not WW Jon D but who the Eff cares? Anyone? I root for Marky Mark.
I do care about a couple:
Chargers(!)- Raiders- Chargers are (!) because you never stop caring for your first one- and the San Diego teams are always close to my heart... plus, they're pretty good.
Cowboys-Skins- because that is a good rivalry between two classic teams. Root for the 'boys because of Smith, Troy-boy and Prime-Time, Romo because it's just not HIS fault, and Jerry Jones, because blue suits are "really hot right now."
Patriots-Giants- Wouldn't it be great if little brother (lets call him David) lead his team to beat the Goliath (let's call him Tim Bradley)?

I would have rather been able to watch the Cowboys/Packers from home. Something needs to happen here. Like I said before, the NFL network could very well give on its "all or nothing" stance, but the cable companies have to stop acting like they profit $1 a month and the only way they could give someone the NFL network is to raise the price $10 a month.

Let's all drop our cable and stop watching football. That'll teach em.

Fine, I'll pick the frickin' Patriots to go 16-0. I won't be able to look at myself in the mirror for a while. Seriously, a hurricane broke all of my mirrors. It swept through while I was home for Christmas.

I'm not gonna lie, if I was a Giants fan, I would be looking at this game as the Super Bowl. I mean, in the final week of the season playing the 15-0 Patriots. If one of the starters gets hurt and that hurts them in the playoffs, I don't think I would be that upset if they ended up beating the Patriots.

Not at all actually. I picked like I always do, no change in strategy. It just happens to be week 17 which is also when a lot of teams sit their good players. I'm a little unhappy that I picked the Ravens because I rememered that mcgahee probably isn't starting, but I don't like going back to change them now. Otherwise, I feel about as confident in my "outlier" picks as I would had I picked the other team.
edit: even the Baltimore thing isn't bad though, cause I don't think Ben R. is starting either. I stand behind my picks.

I think I'm actually rooting for the Vikings to make the playoffs over the Redskins. That way, the Vikings can make the playoffs (and lose in the 1st or 2nd rounds) and then will be a couple draft spots worse than had they not made the playoffs. Here's to another season of Vikings mediocrity.

Scott - 6053 Posts

Either the Cowboys have completely given up or the Redskins are just playing that well, but either way I think the Vikings are doomed.

the cowboys... i think were actually intending to win this game... and they couldnt and u know all the headlines on monday will be Cowboys didnt try.... and in a way they didnt they kinda just gave up... i hope the redskins come back in the playoffs and beat the cowboys...that would be sweet...

I can't blame the Cowboys for tanking that game. The Vikings had their chance to clinch a spot with a win last week at home and didnt take care of business. Vikings don't deserve a playoff spot because of that. I think we all can agree the Vikings exceeded expectations and it will be interesting to see what is done at the QB position next year. Can anyone say McNabb?

I think the Vikings should trade 2 1st round picks to the Packers for Aaron Rodgers.

Thanks, though I feel like one of those players who set some career mark on a day their team lost 35-10.
Was the Viking game on here? It wasn't in Marshfield. I found some shady website where you can watch live TV. Starting out the game with 2 trips inside the 4 yard line with 3 points to show for it. (Including getting slammed win Jon's least favorite rule.) Then a game of sucking, with Williamson's worst drop to date (which was a 14 point turn around since the Vikes fumbled a couple plays later.) followed up by scoring 16 points in the final 6 or so minutes to send the game to OT. Then, fittingly, fumbling the ball on the 13 to lose. Thank God the Redskins won.

You can make a good argument that Green Bay would be better with Moss, but I still think they made the right decision. Maybe you guys could go for 40 mil in free salary cap space next year.
There is no way Walker ever plays for Green Bay again.

Alright! Break out the champagne! It's in the bag! The fat lady has left the building!Jeremy
I think it's funny that everyone has been talking forever about how the Patriots would have nothing to play for, but it never occurred to anyone the Giants might not have anything to play for either.Jon
I actually think the NFL made a negotiating mistake by having this on regular tv. Even if it buys them "good will," I don't think that translates to customers demanding that their cable company make it part of the lineup and charge them more. I think it just makes customers think if there's another game they really want to see, the NFL will do this again.Sarah
I have never rooted for a New York team this much. I wish they would've broadcast the Packer Dallas game on 3 different channels.
