![]() | JonLet's face it, the Bears could be 3-0 and picking them would still be tough. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if they won this game. Of course, there are injuries to McNabb and others that need to be considered, but I don't think the Bears can get it done because they still have to put up some points on a really tough defense. |

![]() | JonHere's my insight for the week, or maybe the season. Pittsburgh didn't look that great when they played the Vikings in preseason. They got off to a good start this season, but against inferior competition. They might end up being just so-so. Of course, I'm still going to pick them, because the Ravens are the biggest question mark in the league right now. You're welcome for the great information. |

Some games you say to yourself "it a shame one of these teams has to lose", and then sometimes you say "it's a shame one of these teams gets a win."

In the case of "shame to lose" it would be more likely to be two undefeated teams. I agree with you though.

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of a game where both teams are playing amazing. It's kind of a dumb cliche, but it is funny in the situation where two terrible teams are playing.

Sarah knew already (I must have mentioned it), but I'm going to this game. I will be right next to the Pirate Ship just off the port bow. For you non-sea worthy people, that means off the front and to the left. I'll try to make myself noticeable so that you can see me. Should I still wear my Favre jersey? I'm torn, I'm not sure if it is appropriate.

Well, I didn't mean it in the same sense that "Al Harris could potentially get hit by a car tomorrow." It's still a possibility he has to opt for surgery, which apparently takes a long time to heal, and could mean missing the next two seasons. (Much like Chris Simms more-or-less did.)

Yeah, that's pretty crazy. Especially since the comment about it says that the Vikings, who they have just barely in the middle 1/3 of teams, will be a "stern test of their status." We all know these Power Rankings are pretty meaningless, but if you have a team who beat up on two of the worst teams, and face a "stern test" in the 19th ranked team, you probably shouldn't have them in the top 5.

The first INT was on the running back Jackson. He did the same lazy one handed attempt two possessions earlier that bounced in and out of the hands of Derrick Brooks. The second time it happened, Brooks did not drop it. And on the final INT he was hit pretty hard while he was throwing (on top of the fact that he had a separated shoulder at that time).
Don't take this me visciously defended Rodgers, but sometimes I wish INTs could be credited to the receiver who screwed up.
Regardless, Jeremy did good at calling it, can't deny that.

I initially read this without this edited part and was going to make a "Sure, but you could say that about a lot of INTs" and a similar "I wish there was almost a scoring decision type thing made. (Even if it were unofficial.)" comment. The problem is, other than the "perfect pass gets tipped up by a receiver" picks, it would be hard to have discretion. If a QB throws it to the middle of no where maybe a guy was supposed to be there. If a QB gets hit as he throws is that on the lineman, or did he hold the ball too long? Still, even if it was only the INTs that were well thrown, but dropped, passes (or maybe end of half/game hail marys), I think it would be cool if someone kept track of that.
I suppose someone might be, but I feel like that's a stat that would creep into a broadcast, if it was being tracked. Sometimes you'll hear announcers in the current game say "so and so has 3 interceptions, but 2 of them were not his fault." but the second that number hits the box score, and thus gets repeated the next week, it's "So and so had 3 picks last week, so he's coming off a terrible outing"

If anything, it would have to be one of the Sabermetric type stats like quality start or tough loss. Really though, I was just making a comment, not really anything other than thinking outloud.
My personal opinion is that the interception is really not that import of a stat without specifically comparing it to other stats, like touchdowns or attempts or comp percentage.

Brooks also dropped 2 sure thing INTs that were ONLY "A-Rodg"'s fault. So, it goes either way?

I was more watching the Brewer game, but it seemed like every other Rodger's pass was thrown directly to Brooks. The Packers should trade for him and line him up as a TE.

I rated this 1 nut, because that was an obvious and completely expected response, setting myself up for a Lee diss.
I think you put too much effort into that.
Although it should be noted that Alex does need someone on any team he roots for to blame for any shortcomings of said team.

Packers 21 @ Buccaneers 30
Jeremy
After getting sacked 100 times last week Aa-Rod is going to be skiddish this week. Look for picks 1-3 to happen in this one.Matt
If Brett Favre went on Dancing With The Stars, he would probably be terrible but would stay on way too many weeks as all the Packer fans would keep voting him back.Sarah
This was the game that could've been huge. Have fun Scott!Jon
I almost talked myself into picking Tampa Bay, but the Packers still have to prove to me that they're not one of the top teams.
