Some weeks I make picks and then think right afterwards "man, these picks don't make sense". And then, I look at the picks from everyone else and see that they are mostly the same as everyone else.

And now for the obligatory "the Packers own the 49ers" comment. Since the 1995 post season, the Packers are 12-1 against the 49ers, with the one loss being the Owens catch game (which, essentially, was the birth of the TO that everybody knows and loves today). In their current 9 game regular season winning streak over the Niners, the Packers have won by an average margin of 10 points. They haven't lost at home to the 49ers since 1990, consisting of 7 straight wins in Lambeau, regular season and the playoffs. The home margin of victory is just slightly higher at 10.7 ppg, meaning that they have been fairly equally dominate both home and away.

And everyone under the age of 21 says, "Duh, they're the 49ers."

Well, while the 49ers were good in the 80s, they didn't have a reciprocal dominant period over the Packers over that era. During a 13 year span prior to the 13 year span I mentioned above, the 49ers held a 4-3 advantage over the Packers. If we include the entire post Lombardi era and stopping at the Holmgren era, the 49ers have an 8-5 advantage. It was in the 50s when the Packers were the worst franchise in NFL history until the Bengals of the 90s or the Lions of the 2000s that there was any such dominance in this matchup. Between 1950 and 1959, the 49ers won 13 games while only losing 4 against the Packers. Even in the Lombardi era the Packers were 13-3-1 against the 49ers. In fact, since the start of the lombard era to present day, the Packers are 30-13-1 against the 49ers. So except for a blip where the 49ers were one of the best franchises in NFL history, the Packers have owned that franchise for 50 years.
