![]() | Cowboys 21 @ Vikings 24 | ![]() |
![]() | SarahI didn't watch the Vikings game after the Moss/500th TD (Rot in hell Brett) and based on the score it seems like the Vikings were able to get part of their act together but otherwise looked terrible. I hate the NFC North. |
![]() | JeremyI've probably said this before on here, but whatever. I feel a little like the media is having "rebuilding year reaction syndrome" as it pertains to the Vikings. That is, every so often everyone knows a team is going to suck, or there's going to be some growing pains with a rookie QB, etc. Everyone knows it. Everyone spends the entire off season talking about how QB X on team Y is going to struggle, but it will be worth it in the end, etc. Then eventually the games start and fans and the media have a "WHAT THE HELL?!?! THIS GUY/TEAM IS TERRIBLE!! FIRE THE COACH! GET A NEW QB! RAAAAAAAAWR!!" over reaction when the thing they spent 4 months talking about what was inevitable actually happens. The Vikings have a tough start to their schedule, everyone knew it, and when you're going over the potential wins and losses many people probably had the Saints and Jets circled as losses. Two of the best teams in the league, on the road, and the Vikings just barely lost both. The Vikings have lost one game they weren't "supposed" to, and it was a tough luck loss, against an AFC team. Every team has those. Ignoring the record, are the Vikings really any "better" if they lose handily to the Saints and Jets like most assumed, but beat the Dolphins? 90% of the media, and most fans probably had the Vikings pegged to a 2-2 start, yet somehow 1-3 is an unfathomably bad start. |
![]() | MattLike Sarah, Randy Moss apparently likes to keep a long held grudge against the Cowboys for no good reason. |
![]() | JonIt's always fun when Dallas and Minnesota play. |
![]() | Colts 27 @ Commanders 24 | ![]() |
![]() | SarahRedskins are not a good team, but if you play poorly enough, they will beat you. Colts have been both good and bad this year, somewhat inconsistently. In fact, the whole NFL has looked horrible. What's the cause behind this? No good players want to play? Too much free agency or not enough? The impending 2011 strike? Global warming? |
![]() | JeremyPeyton Manning would have run out of bounds. |
![]() | MattWhy do we even keep commenting on these games? |
![]() | JonThe Colts aren't quite the Colts of recent years it seems. The fact that no one has known what to make of Washington for the last decade confuses things more. |
![]() | Titans 30 @ Jaguars 3 | ![]() |
![]() | SarahHow's Kampman doing this year anyhow? Woot for Florida teams! |
![]() | JeremyI've not seen one second of either of these teams this year. Maybe even in highlights. |
![]() | MattEspecially the ones nobody cares about. |
![]() | JonWay back machine time. If I remember correctly, there was a brief period in the 90s when the Jaguars were the better team record-wise, but the Titans owned them head to head. It made for some good drama. |

NFL expecting to review catch rule. I wonder if they will award the Lions with a win afterwards.
Also, maybe they'll actually be more detailed about their use of the word "after". In fact, maybe they'll change it to "as he touches the ground". The suspense is already killing me!

Was the entire Packers roster on the cover of Madden this year?
Come to think of it, my ham string has been bothering me lately. Noooooooooooo!

Once again, I have changed a pick I made originally. I think I am 1 for 3 in making changes to my original picks this season. I had the Vikings picked, but I changed it to the Cowboys. Favre's arm might actually fall off during this game, and that can't bode well for the Vikings.

It looked dicey there for a bit, but that last TD drive by the Badgers convinced me that they deserved to win the game. Where does WI wind up in the polls after beating the #1 team?

About the call in the 4th qtr on the Packers for having a man on the line of scrimmage lined up directly over the center: The player in question was NOT ON THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. That was a made up call that the refs apparently had no clue on other than a guy was in line with the center. The ref's own explanation of the penalty did not describe what was called. McCarthy needs to man up and prepare for a fine in the post-game and demand a review and an apology from the NFL. How do you convince yourself that a guy is on the line of scrimmage when he is a full yard off the line the line of scrimmage and standing up. That call basically cost the Packers the game; they stopped the Dolphins, were getting the ball back with a chance to take the lead. BS call, refs.

Wow I won't even end up at .500 for the week. Suckage. KC blew the game against the Texans in the last couple of minutes of the 4th quarter. So I should get that win.

Oh, and BTW, the hit on Rodgers in the Redskins game that was helmet to helmet and a driving into the ground hit was not called for RTP, but the NFL fined that player for an illegal hit. Hmmm. It was bad enough to warrant a fine, but apparently not bad enough to warrant a call. Ponder that one for a while.

There were a lot of people getting knocked out this weekend... Zack Follett (Lions Linebacker) was taken out on a stretcher.
Also, Prayers and thoughts to Eric LeGrand from Rutgers and his family. That is just horrible :(

There was one point during the Cowboy Viking game where Brett was on the turf for an extended amount of time. (No timeout was needed, so it was 30-40 seconds at the most, but it was definitely longer than the usual, and he was obviously in pain.) There were a family of Cowboys fans in front of us, mom, dad, and 10ish year old son. They all lept to their feet in unison started jumping up and down like they won the Superbowl when they noticed, high fiving, and laughing about "taking out the old man," Mom said to her son "hopefully we broke his wrist", etc.
Nice parenting. No wonder all Cowboy fans are dickheads, they're bred that way.

Junior Seau was arrested at 2 am this morning for domestic violence, and a few hours after being released, drove his SUV off a cliff. Hopefully unintentionally.

I saw the replays, ugly. Of course I was thinking about my fantasy team, and I could've really have used him in there to get a couple of more TDs.... Also the other guy I was starting a Cleveland WR also got knocked out of the game before he even caught a pass.
This weekend was ridiculous when it came to bad hits. The league needs to take a harsher stance on this ASAP!
