In previous years, Thursday games were kind of exciting because they happened just towards the end of the season. This year they've just become a pain of remembering to make picks and check Fantasy line ups. Hoping they switch back next year to the old format. At least make it so there are good games... That's my bump this week.

These are the complaints I've had since they first announced the games. Then once the Thur games actually were played, it was obvious that beyond the logistical inconveniences to fans, players weren't getting enough rest between games. Which just makes it less enjoyable for everybody involved.

That was incoherent on my end. That's what I get for using my phone and not being able to see what I'm typing.

Put me down for not thinking expanded playoffs is a good idea. We already have 8-8 teams making the playoffs occasionally, do we really need to make 7-9 a somewhat common occurance for the playoffs?
Also, regarding Thursday night football: I just am not into watching football on a Thursday night. It was 8:30 before I realized that there was a football game on last night. Sunday night and Monday night seem more natural to me.
The NFL is doing all sort of somewhat crazy things in the name of money and player safety. AT some point, I predict we meet some sort of critical mass and what we end up watching isn't the "quality" product that they thought they were progressing towards.

Expanding the playoffs would be a horrible idea, end of story. Goodell supposedly brought it up to deflect attention away from the whole Bountygate thing.

The Vikings still have a shot at the playoffs, and oddly enough they don't need to win both games to do it.
If the Vikings win only one of their last 2 games, they can get if:
the bears lose at least one game, and
the Giants lose at least one game, and
Dallas wins next week but loses to the redskins the following week
...there are some other scenarios in play, but basically, if the Vikings only win 1 of their next 2, they lose any tiebreaker that involves the Vikings, Dallas, and Washington, and Chicago, but they win a tiebreaker that involves the Vikings, Dallas, the Giants, and the Bears.
Very strange indeed,
If the Vikings win both games, they are in if
the Giants lose at least one game, and
the Redskins lose to the eagles next week but beat the Cowboys the last week.
Plus some others.
It's weird...the difficulty factor of the Vikings getting into the playoffs seems relatively equal regardless of them winning both games or winning only one game. A lot of it has to do with the fact that the NFC teams are all within one game of each other, and will likely end up tied with the Vikings. Basically, the Vikings have a shot, but it's a remote shot, even if they win both games.
The Packers need to win out and have the 49ers lose one of their next 2 (at Seattle, and home against Arizona) to secure home field advantage.

So who will be the Eagle's next head coach and will Andy Reid wind up anywhere else after it's all said and done?Jon
