NFL 2015 Season Week 16 Picks

Odell Beckham Jr.'s one-game suspension vs the Vikings will stand. I realize my hands aren't clean here, but I'm glad. I don't know what more an offensive player would have to do to get suspended if this wasn't worthy. People can argue that it's too "harsh" to the team on life support for the playoffs, but in a sense that's part of the point. What message would it send if "how important this game was" was part of the suspension equation? The fact that one person can "effect the team" so drastically by being a dumbass is the whole idea, IMO.

The funny thing is that there's a real chance that this just flexed to SNF game becomes the Odell-less Giants @ A nothing-to-play-for Vikings. If the Seahawks beat the Rams and the Packers lose to the Cardinals (neither particularly unlikely) the Vikings can no longer get the 5th seed and are in the playoffs (because Sea won) and week 17 is for the division and #3 seed, or not and the #6 seed, regardless of what happens against the Giants.

I think Odell got like 3 or 4 personal fouls in that game. Not that Norman was just being picked on the whole game, but up until the big hit the two were just going at it almost mutually the entire game. The hit that got Odell suspended was pretty bad. Basically it's hard to make a case that it wasn't anything other than a reckless if not deliberate attempt to hurt Norman. I don't know if I've ever seen a player launch himself so deliberately at the head of another player in some time.

Well the personal fouls might be the tip of the iceberg. Punches were thrown on a lot of plays that went with no call.

I'm still upset from when Suh won his appeal so he could play in the Lions' playoff game against the Cowboys. Not cool NFL, not cool.

Suh had a lot more plausible deniability in the intent department, even for a frequent flyer. There's also the open question if a player on/near/around a tangle of legs and such has any implied obligation to avoid stepping on a player, and as such parsing the line between where not caring if you do crosses over into intention to do so becomes difficult.

Even if Odell didn't mean to earhole Norman he sprinted at him from 15 yards away with nothing other than a cheap shot as any possible result.

So would it be wiser to lose next week? I don't know how it all plays out but if rather play Washington on the road then Seattle at home.
