While doing so, I wrote, "Not because the Panthers aren't for real, but because they're probably not going to win all their games." Not only was I wrong in my pick that week, I thought I was going to end up wrong on my larger prediction also. Turns out I wasn't. But none of that is super relevant at this point. The Panthers are for real. And they're at home. I think they will have enough to win this week. |

I'm reluctantly picking the Patriots. Not reluctant because I'm sick of them or hate them. Not really down with that whole thing. I just think people are way over top with how much they are confident in a Patriots win. People are talking like it's a 90/10 mismatch or something. I think it's close to 50/50. But I do think the Patriots are slightly more likely to win. It's just what they do. Except when they don't. Anyway, I'd love to pick the Broncos as a rebuttal, but that's not really a good reason. If you're looking for rebuttals, though, there are plenty of reasons to doubt the Patriots. Brady's record in Denver is one.
